A Time to Sell
The rapidly shifting market has resulted in a stark inventory of available homes. That makes right now a great time to sell.
After an initial period of uncertainty last spring, the market has rebounded strongly in favor of sellers. Homes that hit the market are quickly gobbled up by buyers desperate for a viable option amidst a drought of available houses. In fact, the National Association of REALTORS® reported that homes typically sold within 18 days in March 2021 compared to 29 days in March 2020 – a record low since the previous record which was established last month.
Homes in suburbs or rural areas away also saw an increase in interest from buyers as a result of the pandemic. Buyers are moving away from centralized city areas as evidenced by purchasing habits; 87% of buyers purchased a suburban or rural property in March 2021, compared to 80% in March 2020.
So, what does this mean for you? If you’re in the market to
sell your home, there could not be a better time. Low inventory is still a
reality, so every new home to come available becomes highly coveted. You’ll
fetch serious offers from serious buyers, and most likely soon after listing.
